From Delulu to Reality: Granny, Clothespins, and a Denim Bag
Sometimes I think about the things I used to imagine as a little girl and how some of those ideas stayed with me all these years. Back then, I didn’t have a name for it. These days, we might call it being a little delulu. But I’m turning my delulu into my reality, one creation at a time.
When I think about my Clothespin Denim Bag, I think about my granny and us hanging clothes when I was a kid. Now, I’m not going to act like hanging clothes was my favorite thing to do. It was a chore. But looking back, it wasn’t just about the clothes. It was the time together, the conversations, and those ordinary moments that stayed with me long after the clothes came off the line.
I didn’t know then that something as simple as a clothespin would find its way into something I would create years later. It was just part of everyday life with Granny. Now it’s part of a bag I can carry.
Funny how life brings you right back to something you loved doing as a kid: imagining, seeing things differently, and coming up with your own ideas. Only now, I get to take those ideas out of my head and see what I can actually do with them. #realtalk
That’s what my Clothespin Denim Bag means to me. Yes, it’s denim and clothespins, but there’s a little bit of my childhood in it, too. Something I once used for a chore has become something I use to express my creativity, in my own funky way.
I guess some of those things I imagined as a child weren’t so delusional after all. Sometimes an idea just stays with you until you’re ready to do something with it.
So here I am, taking denim to a whole new level and turning a little of my delulu into my own funky reality.
